SearchWarp
This era is of course the end of the writing community I founded 13 or so years ago. This writing community has given Jean and me what what was needed for us to stay home with our older boys as they worked their way through elementary, Jr. High and High School. It gave us the opportunities to travel the country with our family, seeing great and amazing things.
It's made our house payment and paid our grocery bills. It's helped pay for art school, Standford University, cars, condo's in Florida, meandering trips up the East Coast, and getaways in Northern California's wine country.Through years on this website Jean and I have met countless interesting people. Fascinating people. Jean and I want to travel the world to meet these people face-to-face someday. I hope that's possible. We've already met quite a few face-to-face. Some treated us to wine, overlooking the water. Some we met for lunch at our local neighborhood hangout. Some we stopped along the highway with so we could talk over McFish sandwiches!
A lot has changed over the years. I've learned a lot about other people, and I've learned a lot about myself. As a youngest child, and also married to a youngest child, I never quite felt ike I've fully grown up. This website has helped me grow up a bit more, though, and today I'm more confident in what I believe and my role in life than I've ever been. And I've got a long list of successes to back up my confidence.
I sincerely hope others have benefited as much as we have. It wasn't long ago that this website touched the lives of over a million people a month. Jean and I have a long list of emails telling us that our website has changed people's lives for the better. You should try that for getting satisfaction from your job!
Perhaps one of the most discouraging things about this website for me has been it's awkward name. It was named for a totally different purpose. I've told so many people that I operate a writers' community website and they've looked at me with fascination. Then they ask the name of the website, and when I tell them, they return the look like, "Oh, you poor guy." I know what it's like to be an outcast, and perhaps this website represents the outcast the best, but I can tell you, through this website, there have been many outcasts who have attained success.
This month marks the end of this website, at least in an evolving form. Even still, it occurs to me that the new website I've been working on could eventually be used as a framework to convert this website into. Is it possible to bring the frozen SearchWarp out of a coma to a full life again? I'll leave that as a teaser, a possible hint of the possibilities to come. Regardless of what happens, I'm exited for the future, whatever form it takes on.
Jean and I are most comfortable in the role of leading others by serving them. This website has provided the perfect opportunity for this, and I'm sure the new one will do the same. We do feel honored that we've been able to serve so many.
I'm proud of the new Soul of Wit name. It's pithy, and smart, with a bit of sarcasm. I think it's perfect. Let's go back out into the deep, and see if we can catch another wave, and then ride it again like there's no tomorrow!

I am privileged to have to grown in my writing over the last nine months. I thank you, both, Bruce and Jean, for that opportunity. One day, we'll make the time for an adventure of visiting family in Alabama,Texas, Arizona, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri from the freedom of our motorcycles. When we do, we'll have to, at least, check out a Cracker Barrel in Houston. Maybe you'll be able to join us.
Meanwhile, we'll be in touch, thanks to the new site.

192 fans. so many thoughts and dreams and nightmares and talk about my kids and sharing all i envisoned, all i believed in, all i hoped for, have been written on the pages of searchwarp. i believe my sanity has remained somewhat in tact because i was able to write what i needed to write. i will always love searchwarp and the ability it gave me to keep my mind together, and especially, to help others by sharing my own thoughts, beliefs, hopes and dreams. thank you jean and bruce...there are no coincidences we were all meant to meet and come together. Please log in to respond to this comment.» left by Bruce Horst 14 hours 26 minutes ago. 23 fans. Bruce, both you and Jean have provided a sounding board for those of us who are aspassionate about writing as the two of you.
Wish you both much continued success and I have no doubt that Soul of Wit will be hit and bring back some of the writers that might have been lost in the shuffle or through word of mouth, will encourage others to seek it out and contribute to making it a hit!
I have already found Soul of Wit, registered and written my first article.
Thanks again for your dedication and determination to never give up on a dream!
