Just the Facts:Honda continues tweaking its Civic model lineup, freshening exterior styling for the 2014 Civic Coupe and Coupe Si.The performance-oriented Civic Si models get another 5 horsepower and a revised suspension. The bold-looking but sleepy-performing CR-Z hybrid gets a heavy-duty tune-up from Honda's HPD performance-tuning unit in time for the 2013 SEMA Show.

LOS ANGELES — After healthy exterior and interior tweaks to the 2013 Civic sedan, Honda's refreshing the look of the 2014 Civic Coupe and also injecting a little extra power and torque for the 2014 versions of the Civic Si models.

And just in time for this week's annual SEMA aftermarket-performance show in Las Vegas, Honda unveils the HPD CR-Z Street Performance, a performance version of the CR-Z hybrid modified by Honda Performance Development.

The 2014 Civic Coupe gets renewed styling in the form of a bolder grille and a revised fender, hood and headlight design. There also are restyled taillight lenses, more assertive front and rear bumpers, new side mirrors and new wheel designs, including a wheel upsizing for some 2014 Civic Coupe trim levels.

Meanwhile, the performance-oriented Civic Si Coupe gets essentially the same exterior makeover, but amps up the impact with "Si-exclusive design cues" that include a unique lower front bumper garnish, larger spoiler on the rear deck and Si-specific front and rear air diffusers. Both the Si Coupe and Si Sedan get larger 18-inch wheels with new wheel designs.

That's not all for the 2014 Civic Si models. Thanks to revised exhaust tuning, there's a 4-horsepower boost to 205 hp in total and torque also improves by 4 pound-feet to 174 lb-ft. To accompany the power boost, the 2014 Civic Si Coupe and Sedan have tightened suspension tuning via higher spring rates, new dampers and a stiffer rear stabilizer bar.

Honda this week also revealed the HPD CR-Z Street Performance, a highly modified version of the CR-Z hybrid meant to display the scope of performance accessories available from Honda Performance Development, the company's aftermarket-tuning division. At the heart of the HPD CR-Z's transformation is an HPD-designed supercharger for the car's 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that boosts total power to 190 hp. Other HPD accessories include a sport suspension kit, front brake kit, sport exhaust, special 18-inch alloy wheels and a variety of cosmetic tweaks.

Edmunds says: After an early stumble with the current-generation Civic line, Honda seems determined to return the Civic to the top of the compact-car heap.

Just the Facts:The 2013 SEMA show's Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe Pacific concept car aims for a "West Coast" racing look, but backs it up with some serious track-oriented hardware.A carbon-fiber hood and roof panel, upgraded brakes and cooling and unique track-focused gearing all are part of the Corvette Stingray Coupe Pacific concept's modifications.Pieces from the Chevrolet Accessories catalog include staggered-size black satin racing wheels.

LAS VEGAS — Chevrolet revealed at the 2013 SEMA show here today the Corvette Stingray Coupe Pacific concept that it said is "influenced by West Coast culture" (whatever that is) and is heavily modified in both hardware and appearance.

Torch Red paint howls for attention, but the Stingray Coupe Pacific's black carbon-fiber removable roof panel was manufactured with a visible weave to help demonstrate this concept car is about substance to equal its race-ready appearance.

Since it's based on the Stingray's racing-inspired Z/51 performance package, the Coupe Pacific Concept's 6.2-liter small-block V8 is oiled by dry sump and the cooling system is enhanced. So, too, are the Coupe Pacific Concept's brakes, while the seven-speed manual transmission gets unique gearing and the transaxle features an electronic limited-slip differential.

Inside, there's carbon-fiber trim (did you expect anything else?), competition sport seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel in carbon-fiber finish.

The special black satin racing alloys have a red stripe to complement the body color and are staggered size: 19-inchers that are 8.5 inches wide in the front, while 20-by-10-inch wheels are fitted at the rear.

Edmunds says: The Stingray Coupe Pacific concept may be overt-looking in the expected SEMA fashion, but it's largely the same hardware you can get from any Chevy showroom.

Just the Facts:The prototype 2015 Lexus RC Coupe, a four-seater designed to serve as the next "halo" car for the Toyota brand, will make its world debut at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show in mid-November.The RC Coupe will be equipped with either a 3.5-liter V6 or, in hybrid form, with a 2.5-liter engine and hybrid-electric assist.Lexus describes the car as a "concept-to-reality coupe."

TOKYO — The prototype 2015 Lexus RC Coupe, a four-seater designed to serve as the next "halo" car for the Lexus brand, will make its world debut at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show on November 20.

The RC Coupe is a critical car for the upscale Lexus brand, since it is designed to fill the hole in the lineup left by the Lexus SC coupe and the Lexus LFA supercar. Production of the SC ended in 2010 and the final LFA was built last December.

Lexus stopped short of announcing production plans for the RC Coupe, but described it as a "concept-to-reality" car.

The RC Coupe will be equipped with either a 3.5-liter V6 or, in hybrid form, with a 2.5-liter engine. Detailed technical specifications were not released.

The 2015 Lexus RC 350 gets the V6 engine, while the 2015 Lexus RC 300h gets the hybrid system. Both versions ride on a 107.5-inch wheelbase and are 184.8 inches in length — dimensions that make the car roughly the size of Lexus' current IS sedan, which utilizes a 110.2-inch wheelbase.

The car features what the company calls "the widest and lowest application yet seen of the Lexus spindle grille."

Some design cues are derived from the Lexus LF-CC coupe concept shown at the 2012 Paris Auto Show and the LF-LC concept shown at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, but the car also has headlights and taillights inspired by the LFA.

"Triangular headlamps evoke the sporty characteristics of the LF-LC styling," said Toyota in a statement.

The new Lexus coupe could target a range of vehicles, from the BMW M4 to the 2014 Jaguar XK coupe.

Edmunds says: A gaping hole in the Lexus lineup may soon be filled.
