When gender matters: Restless legs syndrome. Report of the “RLS and woman” workshop endorsed by the European RLS Study Group

Disturbed sleep, in particular, is much more prevalent in females than males. Restless legs syndrome (RLS) as one cause of disturbed sleep was observed to be somewhat more common among women than men in Ekbom's 1945 seminal series of clinical cases with the disease. He, however, reported this gender difference mainly for those with more severe symptoms. Since then numerous studies have reported that women are affected by RLS about twice as often as males for mild as well as moderate to severe RLS. The present review focuses on RLS in females from the perspectives of both epidemiology and pathophysiology. RLS will generally become worse or might appear for the first time during pregnancy. Parity increases the risk of RLS later in life suggesting that pregnancy is a specific behavioral risk factor for developing RLS. Some evidence suggests that dysfunction in iron metabolism and high estrogen levels might contribute to RLS during pregnancy. But, menopause does not lower the incidence of RLS nor does hormone replacement therapy lead to an increase, suggesting a quite complex uncertain role of hormones in the pathophysiology of RLS. Therefore, further, preferably longitudinal studies are needed to unravel the factors causing RLS in women. These studies should include genetic, clinical and polysomnographic variables, as well as hormonal measures and variables assessing iron metabolism.

All these 101 women with a new form of pregnancy-related RLS form, except 6 women, recovered after delivery (3rd histogram). Fifty nine of the same pregnancy-related RLS group suffered again RLS symptoms during a further following pregnancy. After a mean follow up of 7 years, 25 out of the 101 women who experienced the symptoms during the first pregnancy (pregnancy-related RLS group) developed a chronic apparently idiopathic RLS form even out of pregnancy. CNN HD-because in the news


24-hour new systems are now something. We accept our new patch whenever we want, courtesy of the new satellite TV channels such as CNN. CNN cable news network, was established as a matter of fact way or 1980 it was the first station providing news coverage 24 hours a day on TV, is two BBC journalists employed and most throughout the world. CNN is also America's number one news network. Unlike its competitors, Fox and MSNBC CNN showing more balanced or neutral point of view. CNN also has its own HD channel. The same programming just like CNN, only with high definition versions of select shows (yet not all of the CNN studios are HD capable). Most of the shows are based out of New York HD Studio of CNN. Below a small selection of CNN shows that you can take full HD glory.
Anderson Cooper 360
This show includes anchor Anderson Cooper silver hair. AC 360 is two hours long – first half it lives normally, running at 10 pm et, so international audiences to connect even, while the other half is usually return of the first hour, or reserved for special interest. Of course, to be aired on the news every means HD detail and sharp; That Anderson Cooper just seem to be much better on high-def.

As its title suggests a morning news program. There are two hosts, Kiran Chetry and John Roberts. Unlike most other American morning programs, focuses on American morning news. You will receive all the news stories in the series of international, local and political forced segments. Therefore, unlike say Fox and friends, there are not many idle banter.

Lou Dobbs Tonight
It is a night Dobbs commentary editing, which covers the major news stories with special emphasis on politics and the economy. Dobbs holds strong views against immigration, considers himself a populist. He pointed to his views, while many agree with outlook, he offers his unique brand of Americans. It is not fair, he balanced says things as it sees them and where the most.

Your money
This is a new show of one hour, in HD, hosted by Christine Romans Ali Velshi. The show gives you move down the business news of the week, telling the audience how this will affect the stock portfolios, savings. Your money is the only program of CNN devoted to financial reporting of depth. View Dan saving strategies, formulas for success, it also features profiles of the top business minds.

Campbell Brown: no bias, no bull
Campbell Brown did not hold back. She attacks left and right wingers, accused to be too liberal and too conservative. Her show is a block with the O'Reilly factor countdown with Keith Olbermann, as an opinion is based largely around the interviews.http://www.sony.com
